DEAD TO SIN AND ALIVE WITH JESUS CHRIST

Tom Harding

All men naturally are dead in sin (Rom. 5:12). Only through the sovereign grace of God, all for whom Christ died are dead to sin, dead to its guilt, curse and condemnation (Rom. 6:2,7; Gal. 3:10-13). Being crucified with Christ (Gal. 2:20), sin and death no longer has dominion over the believer (Rom. 8:1, 32-35), because Christ has died for our sin (2Cor. 5:21; 1Peter 3:18). Because Christ has died for our sin, He has made us alive unto God by Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:1-6). For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Rom. 6:10-11). Dead with Christ, alive with Christ, quickened together with Christ, united with Christ and one with Christ forever (John 17:24), it does not get any better than this (Rom. 11:33). Hallelujah, what a Saviour (Gal. 6:14)!
